This project involved merging the top two floors of Renzo Piano’s Central Saint Giles development into a luxurious duplex penthouse. The client’s vision centred on maximising the advantages of this prime Covent Garden location, with panoramic views of London’s iconic landmarks, including The Gherkin, The Shard, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and the London Eye. The design had to encompass a spacious terrace and an expansive, open-plan interior to create a truly exceptional home.

The Brief
To fully embrace the breathtaking views, the design team created an exceptionally large terrace and a bright, airy interior, which was made possible by a successful planning application and structural input from Arup Engineering. The interior was reimagined to include four master suites, each featuring an en-suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe for ultimate comfort and privacy.
A custom elliptical glass staircase seamlessly connects the two floors, and is highlighted by a striking five-metre-high light installation, inspired by Dan Flavin, and provided by Mega LED. The interior furnishings and lighting were carefully curated to complement the penthouse’s elegant, modern aesthetic, with every detail thoughtfully chosen to align with its luxury and sophisticated style. This exquisite redesign creates an unparalleled living experience in one of London’s most coveted locations.
