Following the success of Swingers’ Washington D.C. and New York locations, we were invited to design the second Swingers venue in Washington D.C.’s vibrant Navy Yard.
The brief called for an engaging, nostalgic experience inspired by the 1920s British seaside, complete with immersive elements like a traditional British pub, themed crazy golf courses, cocktail bars, and curated street food spaces. The expansive 23,000 sq ft venue was envisioned to house multiple lounges, a merchandise shop, and a 3D photo booth, offering a fully immersive entertainment experience.

The Brief
Swingers Navy Yard offers a playful yet refined homage to the charm of vintage British seaside attractions. Central to the design is The Swingers Arms pub, featuring an interior façade, faux patio, and golf-side seating that evoke the inviting feel of an English pub garden.
Nautical influences tie the venue to the local maritime culture, from porthole mirrors to the ceiling adorned with 580 “message-in-a-bottle” vessels, each embossed with the Swingers logo. The three golf courses – The Carousel, The Spinner, and The Meteorite – feature moving elements inspired by British funfair rides, striking a perfect balance between whimsical aesthetic and engaging gameplay, ensuring guests return for the experience.
