A wedge-shaped three-floor apartment is not something one finds every day. The project required the unusual apartment located within the Imperial Hall building to be remodelled to suit the new owner – a bachelor who likes to cook.
The apartment was initially very dark with a boxed-in kitchen. We added invisible uplighting and removed a wall to open up the kitchen, creating an open plan arrangement – perfect for entertaining guests.
For those of you who like history, Imperial Hall, just by silicon roundabout, has been described as the best terracotta building in Islington. Once called The Leysian Mission it was designed in 1904 by JJ Bradshaw & Gass. The dome is a distinctive skyline feature and is protected as a landmark under Islington UDP (2092).
