This Grade II listed villa, built in the 1800s, had lost most of its original features. Our clients approached us to develop a contemporary scheme compatible with being a family home.
After a successful planning appeal, Zachary Pulman Design Studio became the first London practice to gain permission for a full width contemporary addition to a listed building. This appendage will open up the rear ground floor elevation, increasing the daylight and vista of the garden.
The interior scheme is unashamedly modern, with special consideration given to the use of light and colour throughout. An external restoration is to follow and will contrast classical and contemporary features as requested.
A second phase of development under the front and rear gardens will add 200 sq m of space for staff quarters, games rooms and gymnasium.
